Geo-Hydro provided construction materials testing, Special Inspections, and NPDES Compliance services for a $13.4M addition to J.E. Richards Middle School in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The project consisted of the construction of a three-story building addition, several one-story alterations, parking lots, and bus lanes/drop-off areas. The project also entailed site improvements including the installation of additional storm utilities, the construction of a new detention pond, and the improvement of the existing detention pond. The disturbed site area for this project encompasses approximately 16 acres. The school is now approximately 281,373 square-feet with the completion of the addition and alterations. The building’s construction consists of poured concrete foundation walls, structural masonry, and structural steel framing supported on shallow foundations bearing on rock.
