Project Detail

Geo-Hydro provided geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and Special Inspection services for the construction of the $27.7M replacement Brumby Elementary School located off Terrell Mill Road in Marietta, Georgia.  The Cobb County elementary school is located on the same campus as the replacement East Cobb Middle School. The project site for the 168,576 square-foot elementary school encompasses approximately 15 acres of the campus’s total 35 acres.  The schools have a central cast-in-place wall to allow for grade separation. The elementary school project included the construction of the school building, parking/drive areas, and a play field. The two-story elementary school building’s construction consists of precast concrete, structural steel, a slab-on-grade concrete flooring, and concrete masonry. Geo-Hydro’s 2014 geotechnical engineering work included a subsurface exploration and geotechnical engineering evaluation.
