Shaw Industries Plant 78 Expansion

Geo-Hydro performed construction materials testing and Special Inspections services for the construction of the plant expansion that consists of approximately 543,000 square-feet of building additions which will result in about a 100% expansion of the existing facility.  The expansion consisted of a warehouse addition, a new five-story tower, a new silo pad, parking lots, and various ancillary improvements.  The buildings were supported by a combination of shallow foundations and shallow foundations on improved ground (aggregate piers). Site work consisted of cuts and fills with fills in excess of 30 feet, as well as cement stabilization of parking lots.
