Project Detail

Geo-Hydro performed construction materials testing and Special Inspections services on the $44.5M renovation to the nearly 50-year-old, high-rise University of Georgia dormitory.  Russell Hall is 10 stories and approximately 230,000 square-feet, and it can accommodate 1,000 students.  The renovation provided ADA accessibility throughout the dormitory, added individual temperature control to the student rooms, increased privacy in the community restrooms, and replaced outdated building systems. Additionally, the interior renovations updated the lobby and lounge, study areas, and program spaces. The project also included a new roof, windows, and other envelope repairs. The construction of the renovations consists of cast-in-place concrete, structural steel, and concrete masonry. The Board of Regents served as the owner for the Russell Hall Renovation project (BR-10-1073) on behalf of the University of Georgia.
