Geo-Hydro performed geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and Special Inspections services for the construction of Oak Grove High School, a new Davidson County school in Midway Township, North Carolina. The 135,779 square-foot school building is two-stories in the northwest and southwest classroom wings, and the remainder of the building is single-story and includes two gymnasiums and an auditorium. The building’s educational wings consist of structural steel framing and structural masonry walls supported by shallow foundations with a slab-on-grade floor system and elevated concrete slabs. The outer building wings consist of structural masonry wall construction with a steel truss roof system supported on shallow foundations with a slab-on-grade floor system. Geo-Hydro provided its services for this project under contract to Davidson County Schools
