Hurricane Harbor Opens – Six Flags Over Georgia

In the summer of 2013 Geo-Hydro provided geotechnical engineering services for the latest Six Flags Over Georgia project - Hurricane Harbor.  Between October 2013 and May 2014, Geo-Hydro provided construction materials testing services and Special Inspections (IBC) for this high profile project.  Although the weather was a tremendous challenge during construction, the construction team was able to deliver this project on time.  Hurricane Harbor is the largest expansion in the park’s 46-year history, and features thrill slides, a wave pool, and areas for relaxation and family fun.  On May 28, 2014, Six Flags held an official opening ceremony which included Six Flags representatives and project stakeholders, members of the design and construction team, and numerous VIP guests from Cobb County and the State of Georgia.  This is but the latest on a long list of successful projects at SFOG for which Geo-Hydro has provided comprehensive geotechnical engineering and construction phase services.  Thank you Six Flags for a great ride.  We look forward to the next exciting project.
